Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COACHING AND THERAPY?
There are many schools of thought on the differences and similarities between performance coaching and mental health therapy services. Typically, mental health treatment/therapy services are initiated to address improvement/abatement of specific symptoms (e.g. depressive/anxiety-related symptoms, management of chronic pain) while coaching clients typically have specific coping strategies for the management of mental health challenges and are not at a crisis point in terms of daily functioning. Many of my coaching clients have already engaged a significant period of therapy in the past. They also may work with a therapist and/or a psychiatrist while engaging in coaching services and have discussed with their mental health service provider a desire for performance coaching around a specific professional development goal.
ARE YOU CURRENTLY TAKING COACHING CLIENTS?
I am not accepting new coaching clients at this time.
HOW LONG ARE YOUR TYPICAL COACHING PROGRAMS?
The length of time for engagement of coaching services varies depending on your individual needs but tend to range from 4 weeks to 6 months. I am also available for maintenance sessions after completion of a coaching program.
WILL MY INSURANCE COVER COACHING SERVICES?
Performance coaching services are not covered by insurance. Currently, compensation for services are accepted via payment apps, cash and/ or check.
